Dr Seuss Birthday

Last week was Dr. Seuss week. They did all sorts of fun things for the week, including a wacky shoes and a crazy hat day. The kids really enjoyed it. On Friday they had a big celebration at both Michael's and AJ's school. I wasn't there for Michael's in the morning, another mom did cupcakes with them. After Michael was out of school we went to my German class, yes I am trying to figure out this language, but it is difficult one and I keep throwing in Spanish words because I have a bigger vocabulary in Spanish. But I am getting better at it little by little and Michael is catching on to some of it also. Anyway, we went down to AJ's school and celebrated with them.

 

 

When we got there Mrs. Richardson had a word find for the kids to do and already had Michael's chair and paper for him.  :-)  AJ did have to help him on this one because it is a little over his level since he can't read yet.

This was their door, each class was to decorate their door for a contest.

Here the boys are enjoying the cat in the hat cupcakes that I made!!  My first real attempt at being crafty with baking!!  It turned out really well.

 

This was the hat that Michael received in his class for the celebration!  He had lots of fun!!  Later that evening, AJ's school was having a green eggs and ham and bingo night.  So of course AJ said we HAD to go and so we went!

 

The boys eating their green eggs and ham.  Michael wasn't going to even try the green eggs and ham, he said it looked weird.  So we had to go back to the book and start repeating it.  And you will never guess what Michael said......  I do like green eggs and ham.  It was really cute!

 

Even the Grinch was there that night.  The boys were a little nervous about him, but finally got over it.  AJ guessed who it was. 

 

Another cupcake - I think this was Michael's third and AJ's second.  Sugar, sugar, sugar!!

 

Here the boys are playing bingo - Michael has played a few times and has never gotten a bingo so he is a little frustrated.  We finally did get a bingo, but since it was AJ's school I let him go up with it.  We didn't get another one that night.  Maybe next time.  It was a fun day though!!!  David was able to come and eat some green eggs and ham with us and play some bingo!!  Great family time!!
