Here both boys are concentrating very hard in painting their boats.
We went down to the local arts and crafts store on base and painted them. I am really glad that we have this here, it makes my life so much easier. Though I did take the boys after school on Monday to paint them and we get there and low and behold it was closed. Well it is closed every Monday. I guess next time I need to check it out before I take the boys. It was okay we just went and played at the BX and came back on Wednesday.
Here are their finished products, they added some stickers on top of the paint. They didn't stick too well because the wood is cheap but enough stayed on that the boys were happy!
The tigers were the first up to race their boats. Here they are waiting for their number to be called to race.
There were two of the gutters side by side and each boy had to blow their boat to the end. It was a double elimination. AJ did great!!! He didn't place this time, but he had a lot of fun!
Their second station was the snack station. Here they took either a banana or half an orange, a big pretzel and fruit roll up to make a boat. And of course you have to have fish swimming in the sea!
Here is Michael's finished boat. We found out the orange worked a little better than the banana.
Next up was the fishing, they fished for the puzzle pieces and then had to put the puzzle together.
With all the scouts and siblings, the tiger group was done fast and got a little rowdy before we were able to move on to the next station.
Here is the craft station and they were making bugs out of clothes pins
Michael choose to make a spider out of a paper plate
AJ had fun making his bug - it had wings and legs.
Michael was in with the other siblings. There were eight of them. This poor guy had to do five races back to back and that is a lot of wind power when you have to blow it all the way down those gutters.
So with that he took second place in the sibling race. He was so excited that he got a trophy and was able to put it next to AJ's on our shelf!! I am glad he was able to get a trophy!!!
Today I took AJ out of school and we played hooky. We had a mommy and AJ day. He needed and deserved a day. So we started out the day with him having a cinnabon and playing a card game called Trash. He beat me and was so excited!!! Then we headed down to outdoor rec to do some rock climbing.
The only problem was somebody called in sick so there was nobody to belay him. So he was only able to boulder. He had an okay time, but we decided to head over to the movie theatre and watch a movie
Me and my dude out on our date at the movies!!
It was The Croods in 3-D. We had seen this one before but was the only kid movie that is playing over here. But that is okay we had a great time!!! Then we decided to head to the bowling alley for lunch and a game. After that we met up with Michael and my friend who was watching him and played at the park for an hour and a half. It was a great day! I think we all had a wonderful time!!!
