On Tuesday June 24th, we took the troop to the Witte Museum in San Antonio. It is a big children's museum with lots of hands on things for the kids to do.
There was quite a line to get in because on Tuesdays after 4:30 it is free, so the kids were playing around while we were waiting in line.
The boys jumped right in and started checking out where the dinosaurs used to live in this area.
Here they have a special exhibit going on that changes every month and a half or so. This time it was called Grossology, all about the body. Here the kids are in a giant nose!
Then we moved on to learning all about snot. This faucet told them the different kinds from allergy, colds, etc. It was quite funny.
Then Michael took a closer look at some snot stuff.
Then AJ went over to the barf zone. You work on filling up a stomach and then emptying it again. Gross, but sure taught the kids a lot about the human body. :-)
And what exhibit about that stuff would be complete without fart noises. They had all kinds there.
This was a game where you had to put good things in your throat and bad things down the other tube. You used your hands to swat at them. Gracie was a little to short to get the game to recognize her, so I gave her a little help. :-)
Little monkeys Gracie and Michael - they both are always climbing.
Here was a pin ball machine called gas attack, the goal was to get as much gas as you could, do you see the legs on the machine? LOL
Here they were putting "snot balls" into the nose, then every few minutes the nose would "sneeze" and send all the balls back down so you could re-load.
The fab five in a stomach. They started out in the mouth, went down the throat (a slide), where in the stomach and then.....
crawled out the rectum. The kids thought it was hilarious!!!!!
The big version of operation.
AJ and I were checking out our digestive tracks. I think they were pretty good. :-)
Then we headed outside to another area of the museum. I really wish I had all of their energy, they are just go, go, go!
They were going through some old cabins and found a rocking chair. AJ was in there first and then Michael climbed on, then the other three jumped on. It was hilarious!
They boys had to pull up their own weight. They did really well!! There were so many different things they were able to do inside, the kids were going all over the place.
Music time!!! And boys was it loud with all five kids playing the music!!
They wouldn't smile at all for us, so we finally got them and of course Michael cracks me up!
Porchea and me - aren't we beautiful?!? I think so!!!
It is going to get us, ruuuuuun!!!!! We had a wonderful time at the museum, so much so we had to tear the kids away because it was almost 7 pm and we were getting hungry. There was quite a bit to see and do and we didn't even get to see it all.
