Michael's class had a zoo field trip on May 3rd, so I took the day off to be a chaperone for his class.
Mrs. Langston had so many volunteers that I only had two children to look after at the zoo. The one bad part of the zoo, is that it was raining!! Michael doesn't like his rain coat so he didn't have a hood.
Thankfully at this zoo they had a few indoor areas. So we decided to check those out first. This part is showing the different skulls of apes and humans.
I really do love turtles!!! These ones are huge!!!
We decided to walk around with another parent and students, these kids are too goofy!!!
We headed next to the gorillas, another indoor area. :-) This one came over and just plopped down! It was hilarious!
Michael was playing with this one. He will mimic you sometimes. This day, if the boys mimicked him, he would clap for them! It was great!!!
This one was pretty vocal and he carried those boots around the whole time. He must really love those boots!
This is the one we call Big Daddy! He is the biggest one there. Look at the look he was giving me! I wouldn't want to meet him in the jungle.
We decided since it was dry, the gorilla area was a great place for lunch!
Even the kangaroos were taking cover from the rain!
The boys found the ponys.
The rain finally stopped and this little guy came out! He looks very regal!
Michael was really enjoying petting the horses. He called himself a horse whisperer because the horses always came when he called.
The boys running across the suspension bridge!
And then most of the class joined in on the fun!
The giraffes were out since the rain had stopped. They are such beautiful creatures!!!
I thought these meerkats were so cute!!
Heading up the rope bridge.
Michael told me I had to come up and see a peacock. Then I found out he was joking. He is so funny. He decided to check out the giraffes.
The boys decided to play some tag while we were there!
The camels decided that even though it stopped raining, they decided to stay under cover.
This little one was playing soccer. He was pretty good at it!
We found the petting area of the zoo and Michael was trying to hide from the goats.
Michael and Christopher decided they wanted to feed the goats.
Michael was backing up because the goats kept coming at him, he couldn't back up fast enough!
Michael loves holding the baby goats!!!!
Michael was holding the baby goat and I was trying to feed it, and the one that we called greedy kept trying to get the food.
The kids were playing tag and went through the bushes and this one came straight to the window looking for what was making the noise.
Michael bought a little monkey and pretended that they were hand cuffs.
The crew with some ice cream and monkeys. It was a great day!! The rain went away until we arrived back on the bus, which helped make for such a great day!
