The night before we took snacks for Michael's birthday celebration he helped me frost the cupcakes. I think all he wanted was to lick the frosting, but I told him he had to wait until all the cupcakes had been frosted.
He also asked me to make birthday cake popcorn (it is really yummy ask David, one of his new favorites). So we made that and cupcakes to take to school. Here Michael is finally done with his frosting and finally gets to lick the rest of the frosting!!! He was very excited. Oh and he took his shirt off because he didn't want to get it dirty. :-)
First stop was in AJ's class. They were reading the Little Red Hen and this month their character trait for the school is fairness.
Here they are figuring out as a team how to make it fair to mix up the cupcake batter. Everybody is trying to choose what they want to put into the batter.
AJ picked baking soda. He did a great job and even flattened it out like I taught him :-)
Then some extra flour was spilt and the game was on...
AJ and Leonard - they crack me up with their white flour hands.
Everybody was able to get a turn to stir, they made sure it was fair
After they finished their cupcakes they were finishing their little red hens.
Then off to Michael's class (after having lunch with both boys at different times) to set up the treats that he made for the class.
Since it is his birthday he was able to pick which color of the carpet gets to go to the tables first.
While they sing happy birthday to him, he gets to shake the maracas for the cha, cha, cha part! He loved it!!
Then they have a cute little song that they sing before they eat, hand motions and all!!
Michael enjoying his cupcakes!!!
Then back to AJ's class. Here they are with their finished red hens and cupcakes.
All of them being silly!!
AJ enjoying his cupcake!!
AJ and mommy! It was such a fun and rewarding day!!! I love being able to volunteer at their schools!! It is so rewarding and so much fun!!! I wouldn't change my crazy schedule for anything in the world!!
