HAPPY BIRTHDAY AJ and Happy Halloween

So to continue on the busy schedule, today was AJ's birthday and fall festival at school.  So I dragged Mom and Dad into the school at 8:15 am to start helping in Michael's class.  His teacher was so glad that they came because 3 parents canceled the day before.  There were 10 stations and 4 of us and 2 teachers.

When Michael goes into class the first thing they do is get their folders and then get a book to read on the carpet.  It was also pajama day for red ribbon week.  I thought about wearing my pajamas to school, but then decided not too.

Michael showing his cape that he painted himself!!  SUPER Michael!!!!!

Each day the teachers pull names out and that decided which job they do.  Today Michael was picked out to do the pledge.

Every morning they also dance and learn in class!  I love it and so does Michael!!!  He really gets into the dancing!!!  It is so great to see!!!

The PTO put a fund raiser on this year or harvest grams (yes we can't say Halloween in school either) and Michael is receiving his!  He was excited!!!

Now off to centers.  Dad said he wanted an easy one to start with.  So this one they just had to put five stickers on a pumpkin.  :-)

Mom took the pattern wreath to do.  A little more involved.  I started with the spider web made with paint on a marble.

Then once they were finished with the first center, they were off doing another one.  They worked all morning up until lunch time.

Michael getting is groove on!!!

The principle puts on a birthday lunch once a month and of course it was Michael's birthday this month so he was able to sit at the special table!!  Also Mrs. Mendoza brought in pizza for the whole class and the parents!

Here we are signing to all those with October birthdays!!

Then after Michael's lunch it was off to AJ's class.  As you can see he is in his pajamas also, but also has a few other items on.  They had to dress up as a character from the book they wanted to present to the class.

During their special, problem solving, they went to watch a High School Volley ball tournament.  My parents didn't know they were going to be doing that in Germany!  They had teams from all over Europe, including England and Belgium.  It was fun to watch.

Then back to the classroom.  We celebrated AJ's birthday with cookies and birthday cake popcorn (which is really, really yummy).  Then it was his turn to do his book.  He chose Dino Trux and his character was Tyrannosaurus Trux.  As you can see he has a head on that looks like a car, a tail and tires on for feet.

Reading in front of the class.  He did a great job!!  He read loud enough that I was able to hear him in the back of the room!!  David was even able to make it to see AJ reading.

Then back to Michael's class where he was having snack - yes more sugar - cupcake and ice cream!  He only ate the frosting because he doesn't like chocolate.  :-)  After school we headed home to get ready for trick or treating.  It starts at 5 pm on post.  David was stuck trying to get on post because of all the people.  They had five guards checking ids (normally one) and he was still late.  I couldn't hold the boys off so Mom came with us to start.

Heading to get their candy!

The two ninjas!!!  David caught up with us so Mom went back and took over candy duty.  I had three big bowls and our street wasn't a busy one and we only lasted until 6:30 pm.  Some people spend hundreds on candy because of all the kids that come on post.  Michael was getting a little worn out so he went home with David and I trudged on with AJ.  When we got home his bucket was full again.  He said since I went with him I could have all of his Reece's peanut butter cups.  Do you know how many were actually in there?!?  One, yep that is it, one.  Michael was nice enough and gave me two that he had.  :-)

We had dinner and then of course the birthday cake for AJ!

Then we let them open presents.  Michael had a few that Grandma and Grandpa brought with them, so they both were able to open them.  All of us were exhausted after such a full day.  We were ready for bed - at least the adults were!  But it was a great day and Mom and Dad were able to see what a day in school kind of looked like.  :-)
