On the second day we decided to take it easy. We slept in a little bit, have a leisurely breakfast and then head to the pool.
They had a few pools there and it was hot - so in to cool down we went.
AJ heading down the slide.
Michael heading down the other one.
A little game of tag - why not?
They decided to try the little kids slide.
AJ was a little big and had a hard time going down it, but Michael was able to get down it with not too much of a problem.
AJ trying to pull Michael under the cones that dump water. It didn't work very well. :-)
Daddy enjoying watching the boys play in the water.
After that it was one. We played a family game of tag. The boys are getting pretty fast and a lot harder to get now.
And of course I had to get in on the fun!! You can't leave me out!!
The boys decided they were done with the pool, so we stopped for some lunch and then they wanted to go down to the lake. So AJ grabbed his penny board and Michael his scooter and off we went.
Michael fitting in with the tourists and locals.
AJ wanted to swim at the dock, but this is as far as he got. He decided he didn't want to go anymore.
So then the boys saw a paddle boat and they wanted to rent it for a little while, so I said why not. The boys wanted to peddle first so David and I rode in the back.
The cool thing about this paddle boat is it had a slide into the water!!!! The boys thought it was fantastic!!!!
They were having a great time going down the slide and we tried to leave them behind, but they always seemed to get back to the boat. LOL ;-)
Off into the distance we could see another storm coming in. We told the boys if it got too much closer we would have to go in.
The boys decided to take turns with the life ring, this made a lot more drag and harder to paddle the boat. They were having fun and that is what matters.
Our captain of our boat and the engine!!!!
Michael's turn with the ring, he said he was helping us move by kicking!
Just to show you how fast the storm was moving in, this was one way that we were looking and...
This is when I turned 180 degrees. Crazy huh?
Daddy and Michael having a great time!!!!
I am not sure if you can see it or not, but it was POURING down rain, I mean POURING!!! It was crazy!!
After that we decided to head to Sirmione. We heard that they had ice cream cones that were HUGE and of course we had to go and look for them!! Michael and AJ away!!!
I had no idea what we were going to find when we got there. As we were walking we saw this and decided to go in and check it out. We found out that it was Rocca Scaligera. It was started in 1277 and added on to until the 15th century.
David showing Michael the huge fish in the canal.
Michael heading into the second gate.
These birds were interesting, there were quite a few of them and they were sticking their heads into the wall. I am not sure what they were after.
The boys checking out the view from the top tower.
This was the outer walls protecting them on the lake side. We were on a peninsula that was really skinny.
My boys on the top tower!!!
The view from the top of the tower - it is gorgeous!!
You can see by this picture how skinny the peninsula really is.
After that we went looking for the ice cream and boy did we find it!! I think there is a pint or more of ice cream on David's cone here. It is almost bigger than his face!!!!
AJ decided to go for two scoops as well - those ice cream cones were HUGE!!! AJ wasn't able to tackle all of it and we had to help him out a little and but some in the trash.
I just really liked this view of the front part of the building.
Once we got back to our place we had dinner and then decided we all needed to walk off some of that ice cream. The boys decided they wanted to ride their scooters and off we went!!
We weren't sure how long we could walk with the weather the way it looked.
One thing nice about the rain, it kept everybody in and we basically had the walkway to ourselves!!
My monkeys found some monkey bars!!!
AJ saying "Look this is easy!!"
All the boys decided to do some crossfit down there, here they are all doing a muscle up!! Look at my boys go!!!! We had another great day, the rain held till we were back safe in our place and we were all resting cozy in our beds!!!!
