We kept a low profile during the next week. Mom and Dad took some walks during the day while David was at work and the boys and I were at school. They were glad to be able to relax a little bit after all of the traveling.
On Saturday, October 24th, David put together the first functional fitness competition at Baumholder. He was super excited and invited the Kaiserslautern team up to take on the Baumholder team. They re-arranged the whole gym for this event. Michael decided to row a little before the competition started.
David getting the bars ready for the WOD competition part of the day.
David and AJ having a serious talk about fitness and the competition.
Then they got down and started working out. It has been really great watching the boys get more and more into physical fitness as their dad gets more and more into it!
And of course you had to have play time before the competition starts!! Michael being thrown over his shoulder.
Since David is the one that set up this competition and made the WOD, he couldn't compete in it so he was the coach of the Baumholder team.
The spectators cheering on the teams. One nice thing about functional fitness is that you cheer on everybody, not just your own team. It was really neat to see everybody pulling for everybody!
In the end Baumholder took the trophy!!! Go team!!! It was a great event and everybody enjoyed it, even Mom and Dad enjoyed watching the athletes at work! Afterwards we went to lunch at one of David's favorite doner shops in Baumholder and it was YUMMY!!!!!
