On Thursday, August 11th, the boys started cub scout day camp. They didn't have it last summer, so they were excited to go even though Michael didn't want to be in scouts this year.
Michael and AJ ready to go! I LOVE the color of the shirts this year. It was a CSI theme, Cub Scout Investigation.
AJ with his group of Webelos. I was the den walker for AJ's group so I wasn't able to get as many photos of Michael as I would have liked.
Michael over with his group for the camp.
The first activity AJ's group went to was to build their own obstacle course. They did a great job and AJ was quick through both courses.
As we were moving to the next activity - we passed Michael with smiles. He was having a great time!
They had an activity for sports - today was kickball. AJ did really good at it!!!
Next we headed over to do some fossil digging. The boys got a kick out of this. They also made their own copy of a bone.
After all the strenuous activity of the day so far, it was time for some dinner and socialization.
The military K9 dog and handlers came out to give a presentation to the kids. This is always a hit with the kids!!!
This boy scout was teaching the boys about geocaching. He had some interesting facts and told them if they are off even a little bit they can end up miles and miles away from where they want to be.
This was by far AJ's favorite activity. He had to do two types of shooting. The first one was lying down. He did fabulous shooting!!!
The second time he had to shoot in a sitting position. He did great as well!! He said he liked to lie down better than sit up. It was a great first day at camp!! Both boys had a lot of fun!!!
