Mariner's Game!!!!

So one of the things that David really wanted to do was go to a Seahawk game, well since they weren't playing he settled for a Mariner's game.  Unfortunately Chad was working on Sunday so it was just the five of us that were able to go.

As we were walking towards the stadium, I noticed these dragons up on the poles.  I thought they looked cool!!!  As we left there were tons more and all different.  I don't remember them the last time I was in Seattle.

The wonderful Seahawk stadium and Safeco behind it.  David was about drooling at this point getting close to the Seattle Team Store.

Getting ready to go into Safeco after quite a bit of shopping for Seattle Seahawks gear and a little of Mariner's.  David was giddy with all the new stuff!!!

The crew ready for the game!!  We were very lucky where we were sitting because it was in the shade for most of the game which was nice because it was hot that day.

A view of the field from out seats, we had some wonderful seats!!

My boys - they are all so handsome!!!!

Michael and myself having a little fun with the camera!!!

So somebody tall sat in front of us and Michael couldn't see so he went back two rows to be able to see.  I LOVE this pose of him - it is soooooo Michael, Mr. cool man!!

The picture says it all.

One thing that the Mariner's are famous for is their field crew always does a dance during the game!!  They are pretty good too!

So Michael was getting a little antsy during the game, so we decided to take a walk around the ball field.  We came upon a statue of Dave Neihaus so I had Michael sit down for a cool picture!

Then he pitched a few balls into the glove, well not quit the glove but pretty close.

Next we were able to wait a few minutes and get into the play area they have there for kids.  It was great and Michael just made it in, you had to be 48 inches or below.

Working on some math while playing.

Next we headed to wait in line to meet the Mariner Moose.  The only problem he was really, really late.  So by the time we got back to the seats it was already close to the end of the 8th inning.  Everybody else was wondering where we were.  But we had a good time!!

David in his rally hat, but unfortunately the Mariner's didn't win.

Another cool thing about this game was it was the first game that they allowed the kids to run the bases.  So we went and got in line sporting some great cougar hats!!!!

Heading out into the field, I am not sure who was more excited, the boys or David.  :-)

The boys working on catching a long ball - well AJ at least, Michael wouldn't jump.  AJ was able to get some air though!!!

David out by the right field line.

The boys down on the field!

Here the boys were starting on first base heading around.

The moose was giving high fives after the rounded second - AJ's turn.

Michael was up next!

Heading to home plate, there were stopped by smaller people so they couldn't run through, but they had a great time running the bases!!!  David was a little jealous!

The dugout after a game - boy it is a mess.

After the game, the four of us in front of the gate!  It was a great time!!!!

We even had some entertainment as we were leaving.  They were actually good.  There was also a Sounder game starting so their were tons more people around and the main team store was open, so of course we had to stop in and see if there was anything interesting in there.

We headed home after that and Chad was there and we had a wonderful dinner!!!  We were celebrating David's birthday early with some yummy steaks and shrimp!

And of course we bought his favorite, ice cream cake.

Enjoying our dessert!!!

Michael was laughing so hard because he kept coming over and stealing my blue icing and thought he was so slick.  He cracks me up!!!  I love when our nights end in so much laughter!!!

Western Washington here we come!

On Friday, July 11th, we were going to leave early in the morning around 7:45.  Well my boys had a different idea.  They decided to get up around 5 am and then leave the door open and  wake me up.  So I closed the door and went back to sleep and then again at 6 am I heard them and I closed the door and told them to be quiet.  But then I couldn't get back to sleep so I said heck with it, we are just going to get up and leave.  We said our goodbyes to Mary and tearfully left Pullman.

The one thing I love about Pullman area is the wheat fields.  They are just so beautiful blowing in the wind!!

So you remember that I said the boys were up early, well it was a little too early by the looks of it, the slept for hours on the way to Western Washington.  I couldn't believe it, they were sleeping while I was awake.  I almost woke them up, but then I thought better of it and let them sleep.

My boys sporting their new cougar gear!!!  Like father, like son.

Our first view of beautiful Mt Rainier!!  It truly is a magnificent site!!!  We finally made it to our friends' house.  Another wonderful reunion with dear friends!!  We had a wonderful afternoon catching up on the past couple of years.

After dinner we headed down to a nearby park and played some soccer.  I almost took Megan out, but decided it was too early in our vacation.   :-)  We all had a great time!!!

As the sun was setting Mt Rainier was looking really beautiful!

Then back home and we decided to play a little badminton while the boys continued to sit and relax.

There was a beautiful sunset that night!!  I truly missed these wonderful sunsets!!!

Pullman - day 2

On Thursday we did a few errands in the morning, one of which had to be going to Crimson and Gray, the local WSU store.  We all came out with new gear for the Cougs!!!!   We also had to go to the Bookie for David just in case there was  something there he liked more.  And luckily we did because that is where he found his new stuff.  The boys also found some great books and a new series that Michael really is enjoying reading.

After that we headed to pick up some flowers to take to my Granddaddy's grave.  He passed away last fall and I wasn't able to make it back for the funeral, so I wanted to go and say my goodbyes there.  It was emotional for me, but I am glad I was able to go.  The boys put some beautiful flowers on both Granddaddy's and Grandmother's graves.

Then after lunch off we went to enjoy some yummy, yummy ice cream at Ferdinand's!!!  It is second best only to gelato in Rome.  :-)

The boys were excited to get back in the pool and David's back was better so he could enjoy getting in also!!!

AJ with more underwater poses!!!  They have a lot of fun with the camera!!!

Michael striking a pose!!!

Family selfie, aren't we sooooo cute!!!!

That night we played a rousing game of left, right, center.  It was the first time the boys had played and they had so much fun!!!

Great-Grandma Mary and her boys!!!!

And of course Mary and I, aren't we too cute?!?  :-)

Mary with her favorite David!!!  They do have a special bond together!!!  We had a wonderful day with her and we were so happy we were able to get over there to visit.  Unfortunately it was short since David only had a little bit of time in the states and it was coming to an end.

Pullman here we come!!!

On Wednesday we headed off early in the morning to go visit Mary in Pullman. We started out early in the morning so we could try and get there by lunchtime and we made it!!

The first thing the boys wanted to do was swim of course.  They didn't even want to eat, so they had to do a little cleaning off the top of the pool to get out all the bugs and tree stuff.

Then they jumped in!!!!  Mary kept the cover  on it so the water was almost 80 degrees!!  He has never been that warm when I swam in it.  :-)

AJ - love that smile!!!  Both boys were doing excellent swimming which made me so happy!!!

Mary in her favorite chair enjoying the afternoon!!!

I went and found a few things for the boys to play with and they made up all sorts of games with them!

Michael finally decided that he needed some food so he finished with the pool many hours later and ate some food!  AJ also finally tapped out!  After that we had a wonderful dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant in town and then relaxed and enjoyed each others company while putting a puzzle together!  How I have missed putting puzzles together!!  It was great!!!

More family fun

On Sunday, David was with his family in the morning and the boys and I went with mine and Grandma out for brunch at one of their favorite restaurants just up Blewett Pass.  It was a very yummy breakfast and they had trivial pursuit cards at the table so we were all learning many wonderful facts!!  By far my dad knew the most answers though.  :-)  Then we headed back to the house for some card playing for the adults and some swimming for the kids.

Al took the kids up to do some cherry picking in my Grandma's yard.  They loved it!!!

Then down to playing some cards with Grandpa - they all really LOVE playing cards!!!

Kaitlyn bought this big blow up pool toy and Michael and Gabby were having a great time with it!!!

AJ's turn on it!!!  They all had such a wonderful time in the pool!!  It was so wonderful to have!!

Then the boys couldn't help themselves, they were trying to see if they could beat Uncle Al.

And they found out that Uncle Al always wins!!!!  It was a little bit of a sad evening because Al and his family had to leave the next morning, but we were all so happy that we were able to spend the time with them!!!  David came home in the middle of the day and was supposed to go back and have dinner with his family, well he was in so much pain he couldn't even get into the car.  His back froze up on him and was in so much pain he wanted me to take him to the ER.  Luckily my dad's cousin Brian is a chiropractor and he was coming to visit.  He adjusted him and it was better, but swollen and he was still in a lot of pain.  We were putting ice on it 20 minutes of every hour for the next four or five days. Luckily he was able to start walking by Monday.

On Monday night we went down to Brian's pizza to hang out with John and Sue.  The boys found the air hockey table and had a wonderful time!!  Not sure if you can see it, but AJ picked out a bulldog shirt not knowing it was my  high school mascot.

Next came bowling and pizza, the boys are getting really good!!!  The adults just sat and chatted while they had tons of fun!!!

The boys with Grandma Sue and Grandpa John.  It was a fun evening and the boys really liked it that they could not only bowl, but play video games as well!!
