On October 2nd, some of our friends came up from Weisbaden and we headed to a beer walk. This is the first one that we have done and were excited to see what it was all about!!!
Before we even got started, the boys were already off the beaten path!! LOL
This was the beginning of the hike. There was a live band and everything. There were six stops throughout this hike.
At each stop there is a different kind of beer. Here is the first stop with Steve and David with their beer!
And we were off - heading for the other end of the trail!!!
There was a beautiful small lake along the beginning of the trail. That is one great thing about living here is the great trails and beauty.
AJ took hold of the camera - love the pictures I get when they do that!!!
The boys talking away at their second beer stop. If you bought a beer at every stop you received a prize, so of course our guys wanted that prize!!!
Here AJ is trying a crocodile burger. He said it was pretty good, but a little spicy. He ate half and then David finished it up.
This was great for more than one reason, it was warm and it was cooking fish.
The boys clearing the way, making sure no wildlife will get us. :-)
They must have heard something and took off into the woods!! Or they were just being boys.
Here you can see Ramstein Air Force Base - it looks small from here.
The trail was getting pretty skinny at this point. We had to go single file and wait for others to pass.
We made it to the other side!!! It was at the castle in Landsthul and of course where was Michael - climbing. LOL We stopped for one more glass of beer and some food. We had to re-energize for the walk back to our cars.
Heading back through the woods, looking for our way home.
We saw this log as we headed back. Can you see the face?!? Unfortunately it started to rain, but not too bad. We were not prepared at all for it, but didn't get soaked.
David decided when we arrived back at the beginning he need a stick of meat and that is what he got!! It was good too!! We had a lot of fun, saw a lot of people and walked a lot!!! We are all glad we did it!
