On Thanksgiving, we headed out early again for Disneyland, only this time with friends!
Michael, AJ, and Eli hanging out at Autotopia. Michael was getting Stiches' ears to go up - they boys had a lot of fun with AJ's hat!!!
The boys decided to ride on the tea cups together, so the adults rode on another one. :-)
Those silly boys were trying to dab for the picture!! Gotta love them!!
AJ, Cai, Eli, and Michael all trying to get the sword out. Alas - still no kings. LOL
We had been doing a lot of walking and a lot of riding rides - so the boys wanted a little snack break. :-)
Next we took a ride on the tram - the boys wanted to sit up front!
I was trying to get a picture with him smiling with me - and of course that is what he looks like LOL He smiled in the next one, but I thought this was too funny!! David is such a wonderful husband and Dad, he really doesn't like amusement parks, but willing went and was a great sport about it.
It had to have taken some time to carve out these bushes!!! Do you recognize them?
After that we parted ways with our friends and headed into Paris. Can you tell that the boys were a little tired after three days at Disneyland? LOL They asked if they had to go into Paris. Of course I said yes!!
David and I enjoying our train ride in!!
The boys decided to wake up a little on the train ride! I love hanging with them!! What I didn't realize was how long the train ride was. I had pre-bought tickets and when we finally arrived we took off running to get to the Eiffel Tower on time. Then I hadn't realized there were two places for security, so we had to wait in line before we even got close.
We had never seen the Eiffel Tower at night and it was beautiful!!!
We headed straight up, thankfully we were able to get in and weren't too late for our tickets.
The times before when we were at the Eiffel Tower, we never went up to the top. This time I bought the tickets far enough in advance that we could go all the way up to the top.
You can see the boys were a little nervous about being so high up. But they were champs about it and let me take some pictures!
The four of us together!!! Some nice person said they would take our picture!! It is nice to get pictures of all of us together!
Michael taking a moment at the top to enjoy the view!
It was a great view from up there, you can see quite a ways up here!
You can even see the Arch de Triumph! Beautiful sight at night!
This was the architect, Gustave Eiffel. On March 31st, Gustave Eiffel proudly honored the highest Tower in the world at that time. They climbed 1710 steps that then led to the Tower's third floor
he unveiled the French flag, which received a 21 gun salute. He said: "The French flag is the only flag to have a three hundred meter high staff." On the evening of its inauguration, the rafters and platforms were lit up by 10,000 gas lamps. Two floodlights at the top illuminate the monuments of Paris. The red, white, and blue headlight at the top is the most powerful in the world.
My two wonderful sons!!!
AJ - I love his personality and spunk!!!
I wanted to walk a little ways away so we could get a picture of the whole tower. It does look awesome all lit up!!!
At the top of every hour it also sparkles!!! Worth the wait! After that we headed back for the train and home. We couldn't find any restaurant in the area to eat at, that was in the realm of our price and what we would eat, we headed back to Disneyland. It was late and we were all hungry, so we ended up picking up McDonald's to go and going back to the cabin. Another great day and checked off another box on our bucket list.
