Boating time!!!!

Chad and Megan took the day off on Monday and we decided to take the boat out for a little fun!!! The boys were very excited!!!  One nice thing about going boating on a weekday is that we basically had the whole lake to ourselves.

 

 

Chad is such a great teacher - he was telling the boys that if you have things you have to take care of them.  So he had them out there in the morning checking over the boat, the engine, etc.

We started out with a little bit of fishing.  Chad was explaining to AJ about trolling and what he needed to do.  David was helping Michael fishing.

 

AJ caught a fish!!!  But that fish was a little wiggly and Chad couldn't keep it in the boat.

 

Fabienne was taking a little nap while the boys were fishing.

 

The locals call this the castle - maybe one day I will own a house like this on a lake.  :-)

 

Since fishing wasn't the best, the kids decided it was time for tubing!!!  AJ and Fabienne went first!!

 

Michael was a little bit cold, so he hid in the front of the bow while they were tubing.

 

Then Michael wanted to go and thankfully he agreed to go with Fabienne so I didn't have to get in.  But he didn't like it too well.

David was our official flag man and he did such a great job of it!!!!

 

Fabienne and AJ decided that they wanted to jump off the tube - BOMBS AWAY!!!!

 

Then they decided they wanted to do it while the boat was moving.  Those crazy kids!

Then they decided to get both tubes out and it was friendly at first, then....

 

the wars began, they were trying to push each other off!  :-)

 

We stopped for awhile and David was pointing at the boys saying he was going to come and get them.  :-)

 

Lunch time - so fun having a full day on the boat!!!

 

What else was cool is there were two bald eagles that were fishing right near us.  Here the eagle had just got a fish in his talons.

 

This one was coming in to grab this fish.  These birds are so majestic looking!!!!

 

I just love that smile and laugh!!!  Such a happy boy!!!

 

Fabienne came over and decided to land on AJ's tube - the look on his face is priceless!!!

 

After boating, David, the boys and I headed to another friends house, Christina.  The boys had played with Jakob quite a bit when we were living in Lacey.  They still remembered hunting for snakes with him and they were off almost as soon as we got there.

 

The boys enjoying  some lunch and the dog really wanted some of Michael's pizza.

 

After dinner a bit of swimming in the pool.

 

Then down to a warm fire pit for roasting some marshmellows and more catching up for the adults!!!

 

And of course you can't forget the climbing of the trees!  We had such a great time catching up with Christina and crew!  It is always great to see old friends!!!

 

On the way home we passed a 7-11 and ever since we saw a commercial about mustache straws he wanted one, so we pulled over and bought a few.

 

Well we took a few home for all of us and Megan and I used it to drink out wine - we were laughing so hard it was hard to get a picture.

Chad was such a good sport.  He wouldn't drink his beer out of a straw but he would pose for a picture!!

 

It was such a fun night of a game of hearts and laughing so hard my stomach hurt!!  We all had a great time!!!
