HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID!!!!!!!!!!

So on his birthday, he didn't want anybody at work to know it was his birthday.   But he made the mistake of having lunch with us on his birthday and then the boys and I decided we needed to decorate his office, since his birthday is an important day!!!

The boys at the office after we decorated!!

Then that evening we invited over some friends to have a birthday dinner for David.  He wanted steak and baked potatoes, so he had to do a little work on his birthday since I don't BBQ steaks because his are really yummy!!!

We decided to have salad with our dinner and this is our lettuce from our garden and

some yummy carrots to go with it!!!  It has been fun having the garden and see what we get.  I have a few tweaks for next year, but for my first year ever doing a garden and no research, it has turned out pretty good!!

Gracie and David in front of his happy birthday sign.  She wore her pretty dress for Mr. David and also made him such a cute card!!

Porsche is an AWESOME baker, so she said she would make David his cake.  He wanted an Oreo cheesecake this year for his birthday and it was fantastic!!

David getting a little time to relax on his day!!!  Not much though we had him working hard at the BBQ!

All the kids enjoying dinner!!!  And yes, had to have the Seahawk green table cover!!

So the boys and I found at one of the stores in Germany some rockets that said they were for a party.  So we thought, rockets, light things up and blow up something, that sounds like a great idea!!!  There was one for kids and one for adults, so we bought one of each!  :-)

I wasn't sure what was going to happen since I couldn't read the canister, but out popped a bunch of toys in the kid one!

The kids retrieving their goodies!

Then David did the adult one and we had to check out what was in that one.  Not as much fun for the kids, it was streamers, some balls, etc.  I think next time two kid ones would have been better.  :-)

AJ found some teeth in the kid rocket.  He had so much fun with those, while we were playing cards at the table he would sneak outside and scare Porsche threw the window with these.  It was pretty hilarious!!

Then of course I bought some sparklers for the kids to do!  They had such a great time!!!

AJ dancing with his!

Then the kids decided they needed to do tricks while they were holding lit sparklers in their hands - they sure do take after their fathers!!!  LOL

Gracie with her sparkler.  She is just too cute!!!  She doesn't like many adult males, but she does like David and will always give him a hug goodbye.  It is too adorable!!

Michael doing his dance with the sparkler

Then it was present time, I am not sure if you can see, but the cards were hand made with some Seahawk symbols on them.

David and his boys!!!  Couldn't be happier!

Porsche's yummy cake!!!

Porsche in her party hat!!  She is beautiful!!  We also had to play some games of course!!!  No party is complete without games - a little phase 10 with a twist going on!

Oh and yes I was there too - here is the proof.  :-)  LOL

AJ with a nose and teeth he found in the rocket and some cool sunglasses!  Gotta love him!!  It was a great party and David felt very loved!!  Thank you for all the warm wishes he received on his birthday!!  He appreciated them all!!!

Super Hero Birthday Party

On Saturday July 13th we were invited over to a super hero birthday party.  This mom, Porsche, is AMAZING when it comes to parties and many other things!!  She does so much prep work and all the decorations by hand, including the goody bags.  So I went over to help her a couple of days to get a few things ready and the party turned out so AWESOME!!!  There is no way I can top it with my boys but Porsche said she would help plan their birthday party!!!

This is Porsche and me standing in front of her photo prop area.  You can see in the top right they are from Texas because there is the Alamo!!!  I love it!!!  Her poor sister was cutting and painting for days to get this finished.

The five kids - they are so much fun!!!  They get along so well and enjoy playing with each other!!  Oh and did I mention they made super hero shirts for all the kids?  They put the first initial of their name on them.

My boys - being super heroes.

Krista and I were in charge of the obstacle course.  They had to do super hero training during the party.  This was for agility, speed and strength.  They had to crawl through our boxes after hopscotching through our duct tape.

They then went through cones and had to go down the hill to shoot a hoop to work on their aim.  Of course AJ had to show off and stand up going down the hill.

Michael and the birthday boy Alex getting ready to work on their x-ray vision

Michael completed the training and was awarded his super hero mask!

AJ's turn

Then they had to work on their bomb defusing ability.  So they were told to hit the bomb (piƱata)!  LOL  What was kind of funny was that one of the dads there actually does that for a living and said that was the wrong way to diffuse a bomb.  :-)

Even Dad's can be superheroes!!

Then they were working on their stealth skills playing freeze dance.  Here is Michael's freeze.

After all of their super hero training, they were ready to take on the villains (AKA the parents).  So they were getting ready with their squirt guns while the parents where throwing water balloon bombs down at them.

The parents up their surrounding their prisoner - the damsel in distress.  :-)

That is AJ on the left - getting in on it right away to save the damsel!

The kids working hard to get the villains!

David getting ready to shoot one of the superheroes

Michael with his water gun, cocked and ready!

AJ after the games - he had such a blast!!!

So after all the fun there were only a few people left and there was one dad that was having a great time with the kids - here they were cracking up over something that happened to him.  I am not sure what since I was taking the picture and looking the opposite direction.  Look at the joy on their faces!!!

But here was the dad that was getting back at them with a hose!  It was so much fun - the whole day was fantastic!!!  Everybody, kids and adults alike, had a fantastic day!!!

Then after the party our great friends from Belgium were checking out some old stomping grounds near us, so we met up with them for dinner.  Her dad was stationed here in Baumholder back in the late 70s.  He said not much had changed.

It was so much fun!!  The boys acted like a day hadn't gone by since they saw each other!!  Oh and the food was good too!

After that it was time to go back to our house and have a few drinks by the fire!  It was a great night, relaxing and fun to catch up and tell old stories!!

Fun Summer Days

So I am waaaay behind in my posts and my goal is to catch up this week.  Last week I volunteered at Vacation Bible School and then had play dates every afternoon for the boys and work at night, so it was a little busy to say the least.  VBS went great!!  I think the kids learned a lot and had fun!!!

This was our first carrot that we pulled from our garden!!!  I was so excited!!!  It wasn't quite ready, but it looked like a carrot!!  We pulled it July 8th.

On Tuesday July 9th our friend invited us up to a local's lake.  It was so awesome!!!  It was about a 45 minute drive there, but worth every minute.  It was a clear lake with great sand!!  The weather was hot, which made it even nicer!!  She told us not to take a wrong turn because part of the lake is bathing suits optional.  Luckily she knew the correct path to take to the family beach.  She took the wrong way once.  :-)

The boys enjoying the water!

They wanted to go out to the island in the middle of the lake.  Luckily our friends had brought a few blow up rafts so off we went.

We made it over half way there, but then I decided that I didn't want to take up all the time with their toys so we headed back.

The sand was great for making sand castles!!!  Here is AJ hard at work.  We had a wonderful time just relaxing, enjoying some sun and water!!!  The boys said we had to take Daddy back there!  I am good with that!!!

Then on July 11th we headed down to Weisbaden to visit our friend's Amber, Asher and Tristan.  During that week they were having a kinderfest (kid party) in their down town. So we decided to head over there and check it out.  Amber said there was going to be water events there so we showed up in our swimsuits!

We were a little early for the party to start, it didn't start till 3 pm and we were there a little before 2 pm.  So here is Michael doing one of his crazy poses.

AJ found a balloon floating around and this gave all four boys quite a bit of entertainment while we were waiting for everything to open up.

Also AJ wanted to take some pictures.  Here is Michael and I waiting for the fun to begin!!!

So after waiting patiently in line for about 35 minutes (because we were that early) they were finally able to go down this slide!  They were sprayed on top with a water hose after climbing up almost 20 feet.

Then down they went and ended in a pool of water.  The boys LOVED it!!!

The boys waiting in line for the next event, an obstacle bouncy house!

On your mark, get set...

GO!!!!  And they were off.

It ended with a climbing wall.

Then there was a pool that was strictly for splashing everybody around.  You know this was a hit with the boys!!!  They laughed, ran and had a ball!!!

Victorious and soaking wet!!!  All smiles!!!!

This was neat, it was a slide.  They sat on a wooden cupboard door it looked like and slid on down.

Michael loves slides!!!

This was perfect for my little monkeys, monkey bars!!  What was neat is that they had a piece of paper and there were eight different events they had to finish to get a prize.

AJ's turn, you can see how long it is on this picture.

They had to go through a snake pit and a few obstacles wearing these costumes.

AJ working on crawling under and then over the strings.

Michael was having some issues with how big the head was and getting low enough to go under the string, but he made it!

This was the elephant walk as you can clearly see.  It was harder than it looked.

Michael walking very carefully around the corner heading for the home stretch.

On this one they had to walk over obstacles with a bowl of water on your head and try not to spill any water.

The boys did pretty good only spilling a little bit of water along the way.

They even had arts and crafts there.  Here AJ is making things out of sponges.  They also did a really cool painting.

Here they were making things out of flip flops.  Cutting them apart and making whatever.  AJ made a bracelet with his.  There were so many other crafts to do there too, sidewalk chalk that they had to make into paint and they could paint.  There were live bands and some dancers also.  It was an amazing event and everything was free which made it even better!!  We stayed until after 6 pm and weren't able to do everything.  There was so much to do.  They also had some things for little kids too, like Tristan.  There was something for everyone!  The boys wanted to go back the next day because it was so much fun!!!
