Honor Roll and Football!!!

On Friday, February 12th, AJ had the honor roll assembly.  We moved our trip back so we could stay and he could get recognized.

AJ ready for the assembly!!

AJ is also so happy to see his dad!!!  It just warms my heart!!!

My focus was a little off, so I didn't get the individual picture, but this is all the kids in his class that made honor roll.  AJ made gold again, which means he earned straight As!!  We are sooooooo proud of him!!!  He earned them with doing 3 after school activities, extra time pulled out because he is excelled and also three activities in the evenings.

Next was the flag football game!!  AJ was one of four fourth graders that was chosen to play.

AJ's team was called the Panthers!  They are together as a team and ready to play!!!

You can tell that it is a little cold out there, look how AJ is standing.  :-)

And the game is on!!  They started on defense.

AJ did some great playing!!  He had a wonderful tackle!!!!

They had a special treat at half time.  They had the high school dance team perform.

The kids getting a few pointers from some of the dads out there.

AJ was so excited about playing and had a great time!!  They didn't end up winning, but they had a great time playing!  We headed for Switzerland right after school was out.  Unfortunately we had a lot of traffic on the way down and arrived a little later than planned.  But it all worked out and we were able to get into the warm apartment and have a great sleep to get ready for our skiing and snowboarding the next day!

16th Sustainment Ball

So on Thursday, February 11th, David had their unit ball.  The only thing I didn't like about it was that I had to work the next day.  The active duty had Friday off thankfully so David could pack up the car for our weekend trip to Switzerland.

David and I making a handsome couple!

David and one of his fellow warrant officers.

They had a jazz band playing during dinner and after.  I really enjoyed it!!!  I do love jazz!!!  They also had a tenor saxophone who was pretty good!!!

You can't be at the ball without a selfie!!!  It was nice to be able to go out with David on a date night, even if it was surrounded by all of his work mates!!  :-)

Chess Tournament

So I was downloading my photos from my small camera and totally forgot about the chess club tournament.  Life is a bit crazy in our household from time to time and things do slip.  Michael has been in chess club this year while AJ has been doing Student council.  AJ decided that he wanted to go ahead and enter as well.

Saturday, January 9th, the boys and I headed down to the tournament.  This is AJ's first game.  He hasn't played chess since last year and is deep in thought.

Michael at his first game.  He was the one second grader to play with the third graders.  Mr. Woodfork felt he was ready for the challenge!

Michael playing one of his karate partner as well!  They had a good time with the game.

AJ enjoying his game.

Then Dad comes and look what happens?!?  Wrestling ensues!!!  LOL

Michael wanted a shoulder ride.  Good thing that Daddy is strong!!!

AJ trying to help his brother out.  I am not sure  who is winning at this point.  :-)

And they have Daddy down!!!  I think he went down on his own, but the boys will tell you that they took him down!!!  :-)

Then AJ decided to try and swing Michael around in circles.

And this is what happens.  They both land flat.  LOL

Michael took second place in the third grade division!!!  We were so proud of him.  AJ didn't place this time, but did a great job!!!  It was a fun day and the boys enjoyed themselves!!  I am not sure if it was more wrestling with Dad or playing chess.   As long as they all had fun, that is what matters to me!!!

Sensanopolis

On Saturday February 6th, we headed to Stuttgart to a birthday party at Sensanopolis.  I had heard a lot about this place and had been meaning to go, but just kept putting it off.  So this was a great excuse to go!  Unfortunately David was sick and he wasn't able to go with us.

This place was HUGE!!!  You can't even see the other side from here.  I am standing next to the spaceship looking back.

Uh-Oh, the aliens have AJ?!?!?!?

AJ fighting back, they are not going to take him alive!!!  :-)

This was one of the tamer slides.  They had some that went straight down and some that went around in circles that actually bumped you as you went and hurt.

Michael in one of the tubes on the side of the spaceship.  You will notice I have more pictures of Michael than AJ.  AJ when we arrived took off with the other kids and it was so big that I had a hard time finding him again.

This was pretty neat, you could move it around and see the different stars in the sky, with and without the pictures!

Michael and I have also been abducted by aliens.  Poor David, he is going to be all alone now.  :-)

This is the full size castle that is in there.  It had four or five levels to it,

Of course, where did my monkey want to be?!?  On the climbing wall.  He LOVED it!!!

This is a view from the top of the castle looking back at the space ship.

Michael in the "dungeon" trying to kill an alien.

This is part of the jungle that is in there.  You can see Michael in the right picture up towards the top. It just shows how tall it is.

I LOVE that smile!!!!  He raced me down this slide and won every time!

They had a really neat water area as well that the kids could explore.

The kids finally had to sit down for a minute so they could refuel.  They didn't want to, but they at least ate a little bit.

This is the high ropes course they have.  Of course I had to try it and it was a lot hard than I thought.  I made it all the way around though.

AJ was one of two kids that were tall enough to do the zipline.  He LOVED it!!!!  He did it a few times!

AJ in his gear in front of the castle doors.

Michael decided that he needed a little rest and he thought the alien was a great place for it.

Michael getting ready to shoot asteroids and alien ships.  He did better than me, but that doesn't surprise me at all.  :-)

This was kind of neat.  Wherever you put your arms, all the dots filled up them and then spilled over.

They had a science area with many different things.  Micheal was trying to maneuver a wheel chair around corners, etc.

And of course a balancing rope.  There was sooooo much stuff there and the boys had so much fun as did I!!!  They told me we have to take Daddy back  :-)  So I am sure that we will  head back again sometime before we leave and squeeze it in.
