Aqua Palace - day 2

This vacation was really a kids vacation.  I figured that they have been on so many historical vacations, it was about time to give them one of their own.  Not that they don't have fun on the other ones, but this was all about them.  On Tuesday we headed off to an indoor play area.

It was such a beautiful day and the place wasn't too far away so we decided to walk.

A favorite of the kids was the bouncy slide!  Check out the air Michael is getting!

AJ found the air gun!!

This was kind of fun, the boys ran around to get it going and then jumped on.  Then they had me run around and get them swinging.  I didn't realize I was going to get a workout as well!

This one was much harder to push around, but Michael was giving it his all!!!

The kids just relaxing and a twirly ride.

We were also able to watch a 9D movie.  I am still not sure why they called it 9D - but it was really cool!!!

Air hockey - one of our favorites!!!

The adults couldn't help ourselves, we figured not much older and they won't do this.  So we put them on motorized animals!!  AJ on the panda rolling around.

Michael on his blue animal - not sure what it is supposed to be.  :-)

AJ and Michael decided to make it more interesting and started playing bumper animals!

Michael playing a video game.

On the way back our friends bought all the kids bubble guns - so the bubble fight was on!!!

After that it was water time!!!  All the kids were ready to go right away!!

The boys giving a photographer that was there the thumbs up!!!

AJ decided he wanted to run down one of the water slides!

You can just see the boys head in all the water down there.

Chilling at the pool!

AJ and Georgia getting ready to go down the tube ride.

Michael and I hanging out!!!

Wave pool time!!  The kids love it, but I am not a big fan trying to make sure everybody is still a float!!!

This day we followed the lazy river into another room and found a hot tub!!!  It felt really good!!!

AJ's underwater photo!!!

We stayed late that night and say a fun laser show that was played on a waterfall!!!

This one was about the ocean and water.

The dolphin was saying hi to us!!!

They even had a girl dancing.

They used a fog machine to get the colors to go out further in the room!

It was a really cool laser show!!!  We watched it more than one evening and each time there was a different one.  One with rock and roll, two with different pirate themes - they were all awesome!!  It was great fun and a late night so after the laser show they did one more ride and it was off to bed!

Off to Prague

On Monday morning we packed up and headed into Prague.  As some of you know we were in Prague last Easter.  This time though we decided to stay in a place called Aqua Palace.  As we were driving down to Prague, it started snowing, first of April and it started to snow!!  It was crazy.

I wanted to take Mom downtown and show her the Easter market.  They always have a big egg in the middle of town painted differently each year!!  I am not sure if you can see it - but there is snow coming down.

We were all a bit hungry and we found this little cafe.  It was literally that wide and they only had the two tables.  It was really great food!!

After lunch we headed back out and it wasn't snowing anymore.  This is the other side of the egg.

Mom browsing at the Easter market.

Their Easter tree in the main square!

Down by the  astronomical clock with quite a few of our "best friends."  There were a lot of people down by the clock, but I wanted Mom to see it go off.

The clock chiming - it is amazing!!!

This is the statue of the reformer Jan Hus (John Huss), one of the most important personalities in Czech history.  A hundred years before Protestant Reformation was started by Martin Luther.  He was excommunicated by the pope for his ideas in 1410.  He continued to preach and had many followers in Prauge, which is why the pope interdicted the whole city of Prague in 1414.  He was asked to renounce his ideas.  He refused, and he was burnt at the stake as a heretic on 6th July 1415.

I just liked the cracked eggs on the top of the building.

Grandma and the boys on top of the Easter bridge in Prague.

They had a small petting zoo in the middle of the market.  AJ wanted to feed the pony.

AJ and Michael petting the pony.  He was a very pushy pony trying to get food.

Michael feeding the sheep!

The sheep was extra hungry, so he tried to eat Michael's coat!  You can see him munching on the corner of it!

They had a good jazz band playing!  I enjoyed listening to it!  After that we headed back to the car.  I wasn't sure if we were going to make it back into Prague so I wanted to take Mom to see the Charles Bridge.  David took the boys back to the car to wait.

Mom with the castle behind her!

Mom with the Charles Bridge behind her - look how beautiful the day became from the snow this morning.

Mom in front of the start of the Charles Bridge.  Very impressive!!!

We found another band on the bridge.  This one was called the Bridge Band!!  :-)  After that we decided to head back to the car so the boys didn't have to wait too much longer to go to Aqua Palace since that is all they have been talking about for weeks!  When we got there we met our friends and all the boys were thinking about was going to the water slides.  So like a good mom, I dropped everything into the room and we put on swimsuits right away!

The four kids ready to hit the water slides!!!

David and I ready to hit the water slides as well, maybe not as enthusiastic, but still ready!!

AJ coming on down the slide!!!

David's turn coming  on down the slide!!!

Time for the lazy river - which ended up not being so lazy.  Between water flow and all the obstacles.

Part of the "lazy river."  I think this was the boys favorite part because they are both part monkey.

Michael and David heading for the tube ride!!!

AJ and Georgia heading down what came to be all the kids favorite ride!

Michael going down the slide, you can see my toes - I was right behind him.

Next we headed to the outdoor pool.  The air was freezing (remember it snowed that morning)!  Michael didn't seem to feel it - he was out of the water.

Underwater photo of David and Michael!

Michael so excited about swimming!!  I love their joy of the water!!!

This is a slide I didn't really like, it was a straight shot down and an abrupt stop at the end!

The boys going down on their favorite slide!!!  It was a great time and we spent about three hours in the water park.  After that it was showers and heading for dinner.  I am not sure if the boys were wore out, but I sure was!!!  I was ready for bed right after dinner, but the boys seemed to be energizer bunnies!!  It was a great first day at Aqua Palace!!!
