Baseball Season

On Friday Michael asked me to volunteer in his class, they were celebrating cinco de Mayo.  Their teacher Ms. Duncan brought in stuff to make quesadillas.

He was one of six that was able to help make them and he was very excited!

On Friday they always have show and tell - he took in one of his hot wheels to show.  It was a good time and I do always enjoy hanging out in the boys' classrooms.

A week ago Saturday was supposed to be the boys' first game, but it was canceled because of bad weather.  So Friday the boys had their first games at the exact same time on two different fields.  Good thing David was able to get off work so we could each be at one.  Luckily they were close enough that we were able to switch half way through the games too.

I started off at AJ's game.  Here he is playing outfield and staying ready in case the ball came to him.

His first at bat.  He is doing really well at hitting.  The coach had a real hard time pitching this first game.  A lot of his pitches bounced about a foot before home plate so it did make it much harder for them to try and hit the ball.

Then I moved over to Michael's game and David to AJ's.  He is really working on hitting that ball.  He actually hit it under the outfield fence once, granted the fence isn't the regulation fence, but it was still a really great hit!!!

Here he is celebrating getting to first base.  He was having such a great time playing!!!

Michael in the ready position.  It was really funny, all the kids were pretty attentive the first 30 to even 45 minutes, but after that the dirt was much more interesting.

Here Michael is dancing on 2nd base.   Once nice thing about both teams is that everybody gets to bat every inning.  They play for an hour and once the hour is up so is the game.  Which, like I said, with Michael's team I bet 45 minutes would be plenty.  But we all had a great time at the first games for the boys and they both did such a great job!!!!
