Garden time

On Saturday we had to get up early on Saturday because Michael's game was early.  He wasn't feeling the best that day so wasn't into the game nearly as much as Friday's game.

It was cold out there in the morning and had rained the night before with the wind blowing.  Here is Michael on first base, he did such a great job even if he wasn't feeling good.

He is a trooper and finished the whole game and had some really great hits!!!  After that we took Michael home to get some rest and AJ and I went back to his game.  The opposing team only had four players show up so AJ volunteered to play with the other team.  He did AWESOME!!!

Every time he went up to bat he got a hit!!  He was smiling from ear to ear!

He played second base for the other team the whole time and really enjoyed it and he was able to get all the balls that were sent his way.

Here he is running to home plate.

So after the game I decided it was time to try and plant our garden.  David helped pound the boards together to get us started with AJ helping.  Michael still wasn't feeling too good so he stayed inside.

Here we are pouring in the dirt, I had to get a lot of dirt and actually ended up having to go back to the store to get more.  I really underestimated how much I needed.

AJ was helping spread the dirt.  We also had our two neighbor girls come over and helped plant the garden.

Here is our completed garden, I bought four plants that were already started and the rest seeds.  I have never planted a garden before, have no idea if any of it will grow but the boys really wanted a garden and here is to hoping!!

AJ getting some water on our newly planted garden.

While I was getting more dirt I decided to get some flower seeds for our back yard.  So AJ and I planted those also, so hopefully we will have some pretty flowers growing in our backyard soon!!  After that we went to our neighbors for some after dinner drinks and had such a wonderful time!!  It was a really great day and a lot was accomplished!!!
