Black Forest - Day 3

On Tuesday, July 5th, we packed up to head home.  But before we made it home we decided to make a stop at a glass blowing museum.

One really cool thing at this place is that you can make your own vase.  So the boys decided that would be awesome!

Michael was up first, he was able to choose his colors.  Right now he is putting the colors on his vase.

Now to put it in the oven for a little bit of cooking.

Michael blowing his vase up.  He said it was a lot harder than he thought.

The vase is all done and now he is breaking it off the pole.

Next up is AJ getting his colors on his vase.

And of course you need a little heat with it!!!

AJ's turn to blow his vase.

You can see how much it grew!!  You can't tell, but he chose blue, green and white.

Here they are, hot and needing to cool a little bit.

While it was cooling, we decided to look around at the museum that was there.  These were under a black light and it was cool to watch them change colors.

Michael decided to take another try at blowing the glass.

Grandma wanted to see what all the fun was, and played around with some hot glass as well!

Once their vases were cooled, the boys brought them here to get the top sanded down to be nice and smooth.

At the shop was this interesting fellow.  He made fantastic things out of wire.  He was also a HUGE talker.  The boys had him make them some book marks with their names and animals on them.  It was fascinating to watch him work.  After that we finished the drive home.  It was a fun weekend, the weather was perfect and the scenery fantastic!!!!!
