Field Day

On Friday AJ's school had field day.  Michael decided that he wanted to join his brother instead of going to his school which was totally fine with me!  Each class K-2 made their own signs and dressed in a color.  Obviously we were red and Mrs. Richardson LOVES monkeys!!!  Luckily we had a couple of high school students to help also!

The class walking into the track and field area.

They went all out, here was a clown that walked around and messed with the kids all day.  It was pretty funny!!

And of course the D.A.R.E. lion was there too!!!

The first event was a dunk tank.  Here was AJ's throw and....

Down went Mrs. Vega!  She is the mom of one of the kids in his class.  All the kids liked this station the best!!   There was also a police car that they let them talk on the loud speaker.   Who doesn't love that!?!

The next one was my station, it was a clothes relay, you had to put on a pair of pants and a top and run to the other side and pass it off to another

Here is Michael trying to get his pants on.  ;-)

Here is Michael throwing a noodle to see how far  you could throw it.  I love the joy in his face here!

This parachute station wasn't run by people that normally work with kids.  They thought it was a good idea to have all the kids lift the parachute up and run in at the same time to grab the balls.  It ended up in quite a few kids getting stomped on and hurt.

Next was zumba - this is Michael's thing, he LOVES to dance!!!

AJ also LOVES to dance, more at home than in public though

This was a relay race where they had to carry a rubber chicken there and back to their teammate.

Michael running his fastest with the chicken

AJ checking out Miles on the way by.  :-)

I thought these Galaxy balls were really cool!!!  They had to keep it up in the air there and back racing the team next to them.  After that it was lunch time, they had hot dogs and a bag of chips.  But after all of that hard work the kids were starving.  So Maria and I ran to the commissary to get a snack for all the kids, we can't let them go hungry.  ;-)

The day ended with teachers getting pies in the face!!  Michael decided he wanted to stay the whole day so he also joined AJ in his special and the rest of the day.  He asked me if he could just go into first grade next year.  I told him he had to finish kindergarten first.  :-)  It was such beautiful weather and a great day!!! Everybody enjoyed themselves!!!!
