Luisenpark Mannheim

On Thursday July 9th, I found out that at Luisenpark Mannheim they were having a scientific fair.  I thought it would be fun, so the boys, myself and three other families went to check it out.

The crew heading into the park.  One really cool thing is we all were able to get in free because it was set up for kids, they were letting everybody in free.  That was a definite bonus!!!

They had these HUGE nests all over the park with quite a few birds in each nest.

Horses always gets the kids attention.  ;-)

The crew - it was a lot of kids and they had so much fun!!!!

We went into a barn and there was this nest up near the ceiling with little baby birds in it.  They were so cute!!!

I think Michael would have been content just staying there and petting the goat.

And where are you going to find the kids?!?  Of course up a tree!!!

AJ and his expressions crack me up!!!

You can just see AJ up near the top in blue and Michael at the bottom of the picture just starting his climb.  They have no fear.

Lunch break - we were all hungry and ready for a little something to eat.

After lunch a couple of the kids decided that it was time to sit on AJ!!  LOL

There is Michael, chilling in the chair eating an apple while the rest of the kids are running around him.

These pelicans were very brave and came close to the kids.  That is until the kids decided to chase them.

There were a bunch of coy in this pond and they were huge!!!

The kids heading into the tunnel, it was cool under a water fall and jumping from rock to rock.

So the kids found this little area and all decided to try and jump from rock to rock.  They did pretty good and only two of the kids ended up with wet shoes.  Thankfully they weren't mine this time.  :-)

You can see how close they were and this one was trying to get away from the kids.

AJ making music on a large frog.

They were trying to get this bridge to shake back and forth.  They did get it going pretty good too!

Michael and AJ found more rocks they decided to jump back and forth on.

And of course they found more trees to climb.  :-)

The kids decided to run around this fountain and who am I to say no.  Get that energy out!

Michael coming around the bend!

The kids decided they wanted to play at the park, so off with some more energy!!!  The only problem was there was a lot of kids there with the science experiments going on at the park and they are not very polite.

The boys at the top of the tower.  It was a long wait for this one and they boys said it wasn't worth the wait, especially because kids kept trying to cut in front of them.

They all decided to make a fort out of sand.

These plants were the COOLEST!!!!  You rub the leaves and each one smells different.  One smelt like lemon, one like mint, one like coca-cola and quite a few more.  It was so awesome!!!

They had a butterfly room with so many beautiful butterflies!!!!

I love this turtle - he was so cute!!!

There was a really large fish in there with shark like teeth that they all wanted to touch.  It was quite an attraction for all of them!!

I LOVE these little monkeys!!!  They are so cute!!!!

We can't forget our snake picture for Grandpa!!!  This was a big sucker!!

Michael was making a tornado!!

What is an outing without ice cream?!?  Luckily there was one that Michael liked this time!

This was the first experiment they did.  They weren't really interested in any of the other ones.  Granted they were all in German.  This one they whispered and on the other side they could hear what they said.

Joey who is a little smaller than Michael giving Michael a piggy back ride!

At the end of the day before we left, a little rolling down the grass was the end to a very fun day!!!

For some  reason Andrew really loved to sit on top of AJ, it was hilarious!!!!!  We had a wonderful time and it was a beautiful day at a beautiful park with great friends!!!
